Illuminessence Glass is
Crossville's first
introduction of a molded,
or "cast" glass line.
Illuminessence Glass is formed using an ancient Egyptian technique of pressing or "casting" tinted
molten glass into tile forms, creating solid glass tiles where the color permeates the product, similar to
our porcelain tile. Unlike enameled glass products - where the color is applied to the back of the glass,
or fused glass products - where layers of glass are sandwiched together, the colors in Illuminessence
Glass are deep, translucent and highly reflective of light. This quality allows the user to incorporate light
into a wall or floor in a way that no other material can. Light is reflected, bent and twisted in so many
directions that the overall appearance resembles water. Different, dramatic looks can be achieved
depending on how the products, colors and finishes are mixed.
Illuminessence Glass is comprised of three unique series: Prism Glass, Prism Glass
Listellos and Radiance Glass.
